Our services

From a single fence to a whole commercial site, every job is handled by licensed removalists, with disposal and clearance arranged for you.

Why a licensed removalist matters

In Victoria, a Class A licence covers friable and non-friable asbestos, while a Class B licence covers non-friable (bonded) material only. Your removalist notifies WorkSafe Victoria before every job.

In March 2023, WorkSafe Victoria reported a demolition company was fined $25,500 plus $3,999 in costs after asbestos sheeting at a Watsonia North home was loaded into a skip with an excavator. Read the report.

Victorian rules differ for private householders and businesses. For any renovation involving asbestos, use a WorkSafe Victoria-licensed removalist. Read the Victorian asbestos regulations guide.

Asbestos in Melbourne homes

Homes built or renovated before 1990 may contain asbestos. That includes brick and weatherboard homes, not only fibro. The Better Health Channel lists common Victorian locations: eaves and soffits, external fibre-cement cladding, bathroom and laundry linings, tile underlay, corrugated cement roofing, vinyl floor tiles, flues, garage and shed roofing, and fences.

For a ballpark on every job type, read our asbestos removal cost guide. If you are unsure what is in your property, a whole-property assessment maps every location before work begins, and a quick asbestos check handles a single suspect material.

Asbestos fibres are a long-term health risk once they are released into the air. We treat every job carefully so your family and your home stay protected. See the Better Health Channel for more.

How a safe removal runs

  4. Double-wrapped in 200-micron plastic and labelled
  5. Taken to an EPA Victoria-authorised facility and recorded in Waste Tracker

Victorian rules differ for private householders and businesses. For any renovation involving asbestos, use a WorkSafe Victoria-licensed removalist. Our Victorian regulations guide explains licences, notification and clearance in plain English.

Homes built or renovated before 1990 may contain asbestos, including brick and weatherboard homes. You cannot tell by looking, so an asbestos check or a lab test of a sample is the reliable way to find out.

Yes. A clearance certificate is required for any friable removal and for more than 10m² of non-friable removal. An independent competent person issues it before the area is reoccupied, and independent clearance is included in every removal quote.
